He is here in NZ filming an update of DNA's "Last Chance To See". He's looking at kakapos again - a small success story with the population having increased from 40 when DNA and Mark Carwardine were here, to 90 now Fry is also looking at other NZ species such as wekas, wetas and a plant or two.
He's picked the right week for the weather The footage should be spectacular.

Helly ... Oh poo, she's gone
I don't think SF will be here in Chchch, sadly. I look forward to seeing the resulting programmes... he's off to six other places too, including the Galapagos, Flores and others, to check the status of all seven of the species that DNA wrote about. Two are now extinct in the wild No, of course I can't remember which two

That sounds very interesting Frenchbean, if you hear any more about the programme or when it goes out please keep us posted. I expect it will be a while yet.
