Crickey not a lot in here about Fraserburgh! Or the Broch, as I understand it is called. The lighthouse is worth a visit, although the guide couldn't help but tell us how much better the Northern Lights Board was than Trinity House! The beach at Fraserburgh is nice and sandy, although last time I visted it the burn was very dirty running onto the beach.
My wife spent many years in the town, before she moved away, got divorced and then married me. We still visit from time to time as some of her family lives thers, and some are in the local Kirkyard. Last time we went visited the new Tesco's.
I would like to see more on the Fishing Fleet. Or I suppose the lack of it nowadays. Also one of the few places I've visited that has a Scottish Nationlist MP. I think its Alex Salmond (hope spelt that right) himself.
My wife misses the sea, the harbour, and the 'Cant'.
On the subject of the local cant, maybe you could provide us with some of the words, and their meanings. This would be most welcome

Went on holiday to Fraserburgh. Again visited the Lighthouse Museum, stayed in Inverallochy. Saw Maggies Fishy Hoosie (Worth a visit). Bought some lovely ice cream in the village of Cairnbulg. Emptied the shop there of it's Moray Cup. Which has to be tasted to believe it. Had a lovely time, saw (wife's) family members, who live in and around Fraserburgh. She (The wife) was surprised that her house in Marconi Road had been pulled down. Visited Banff, Peterhead, Aberdeen, and many more places. Had a 'Guid' time. Hope to be back to Scotland next in 2010. Or maybe earlier.

If you watch 'Trawlermen' on BBC, some of the boats are registered at Fraserburgh (FR). Some at Peterhead (PH) but for some reason the Fraserburgh boats seem to go into Peterhead port.
