When we were on the QQ boards we moaned about the 10pm early closure. We used to be able to talk into the early hours and our messages got posted in the morning. Then the powers that be stopped our late messages from being transmitted. Some of us moved to h2g2. What I have noticed is that no-one on this site writes into the night. Where are the QQ people that used to write in the early hours? I am writing this at something past one in the morning. The nearest poster to me is 10 hours ago. Most people have posted yesterday or up to 6 days ago. Not what you would call a happening site.

As I just observed on another thread, you should try QQR, only 24 members so far, but word will spread, and you can post without registering.

Hi Sue. When this facility was set up, it was the only alternative to QQ overnight. I think it has plugged a gap and introduced a few people to the joys of h2g2. Now, as JR says, a more orthodox board exists at QQ Renegades. Doubtless, he and I will continue to look in now and again at odd times. The board will remain for those who want it and in case of further emergencies elsewhere.

Just come back from a night out to see "Vincent in Brixton" (brilliant play, just leaving the West End to go on tour) thought I would follow up your address for QQR. Got through all right but can't seem to register. Tried to register as Sue and then as Suenonymous. Used various passwords but to no avail. It kept coming back with Error. Invalid username/password combination. As you seem to be a person who knows everything I don't, I thought you might be able to help. Again!

I see we have a Sue as of 1946 tues, so you can't use that(just missed!).
Username need not be the name you use onscreen, you can change that anytime. Username must be one word, no spaces, password can be anything you like, as far as I know (I used JR as username and a six figure number as password).

If you have an AOL email address, it would be best to use another, as AOL seems to have taken a dislike to this board.

I'll just have a look at the registering process, to see if I've forgotten anything.

Just checked the registration process, all you need is a random username, and an email address. After registering, you will receive an email with a password, login with that, then you can change the password to something you can remember. When you login, you will be offered the option of 360mins online, or unlimited, tick the box for unlimited. If you get that far, you will find you can leave instant messages for me on the board (just click on my name). OK, Try again.

An afterthought, I just tried registering with another board using the same software, to remind myself of the process, and it occurs to me that the first time you should encounter a password is when one is emailed to you: did you by any chance press the 'login' button, rather thean 'register'?
