Hi jack Biggs
I have just read your message on the BBC messageboards. I have the same problem in so much as I can not leave a message any more as the boards are closed when I can get on line. The whole thing is ludicrous, verging on the ridiculous.
Now I have to learn how to use these new h2g2 boards !

First thing is to alter your details and be a name instead of a number. I haven't worked out properly yet but when I've twigged how to LINK in as Doc has suggested - I'll promulgate it.

Jack. I suggest you edit your page to add a line such as: 'Want to ask or answer questions about something else, or just chat? Try the QQN page here: A1114921'

Jack. I suggest you edit your page to add a line such as: 'Want to ask or answer questions about something else, or just chat? Try the QQN page here: A1114921'
You just include the reference code and it automatically turns into a link. It's a piece of cake.
Doc.

Jack to make the link as in Docs message but in the top part of your page above these conversations, just type the reference number as in A1114921 it is automatically recognised by the system and becomes a link.

Thanks, James. I'm trying to get Icy North to link to QQN also. I put a link to him on QQN.

Jack. You really are struggling aren't you! Just edit your page and add the link which should be to A1114921. The 'A' is required. No need to change your Subject Heading! It should then look something like our link to you.
Cheers, Doc.

23600 First change your nomenclature , next best of luck with finding your way around the board. I haven't had time to read the 'destructions' so I'm operating on a suck it and see basis currently. Probably the best pointer is locating Electric Hermit's web site and put it on your favourites list. (I have it as Icon available on desk top.) He has the makings of a good system - my only criticism so far - apart from blue on blue headings - is that it encourages discussion by topic designation rather than general and several - as News develops. That requires a lot of waste time 'surfing' - or for me as an IT novice it does. But even as it is,I think it far superior to the other with its shop working hours and inexperienced in Life or politically correct moderators pulling posts that they either misread or do not understand!

Good Morning everyone arrived here for a breakfast meet.
Although I recognise some of the other guests of course, I don't seem to understand the eitiquette or know where the grubs is.
Somebody say something contraversial please

Somebody say something contraversial please.
I believe that there are gender applicable jobs and that the current drive for unisex in job occupations is insane. Women in active positions of - for example -the Armed Forces, Police or Fire Service are a joke that only semi works by others making up for their mental and physical deficiencies. Women could be far better doing their naturally designed job of hatching out Human eggs.
Also I do not believe that multiculture is a good aim because the negative aspects - that are never espoused - more than cancel out the positive that are constantly in order pushed to indoctrinate the false premise that multiculture is a good thing. (This is basically a bit like Dane Geld - only far worse.)
I think these are virtually self evident points but in today's false fronted world are considered contraversial by many!

jack,
Ref: multiculture. It can only be a transient unreal situation until the polarised views with each culture are assimilated and unified. Multiculture then becomes a real option. The prevalent view should be that multiculture is accepted on a "visitor" basis but NOT on a resident basis. The arrival of migrants unhappy with things back home indicates a strength which can be harnessed to assist in change within a society, their own.
We know only too well of "enforced" regime change! The necessary Respect and Trust is missing, if not from both sides, then from one side.
Working from within, is the answer, as we are going to find out.
And I am going to pass on the gender aspect of things, until I am understood. I don't want/need any misunderstandings.
Jack,I suspect you may be taken to task if you said......Women in active positions, are a joke that only semi works by others, making up for their mental and physical deficiencies.
Humour is allowed on these boards. All work and no...

Hi All. This is Oscar.* here - I already had another alias on this forum, but hadn't used it for such a long time.
Firstly, many thanks to James St George for directions here, as reply posted on my bye bye message on Virtual Soapbox. (I had tried before Jack, but failed to find your place.)
Interestingly, when I tried to find these pages last night, the bar at the bottom of the screen said "done", but the screen remained blank. Good start eh? Do these pages shut down at some Cinderella time too?
So, I'll page mark and let's see how it goes...
Best regards all!

If polarised views become unified, you are back to one culture not a multi. That is the problem there can only be one culture in one country, it will change a little, slowly, as new interactions happen, but foreign cultures and people are and always will be foreign. If they are let in they have to adopt our ways.

Good to see you Oscar*R2D2!
This board does have occasional problems but from what I gather from other longer term users nothing like the ones on the old dying message boards. It never closes it is 24/7.
Not only that but here there are all sorts of smilies , click on one to go to the page that lists them and the thing to type to make them happen.

Boy, you like to live dangerously, don't you?? So, I need you to expand a little - are you saying that motherhood is all women are fit for? Are there no other jobs that they can do?

You never eat pizza (Italian), or drink French wine? You've never danced the rumba (Latino)? You wouldn't eat potatoes (American)? Can't drive a diesel car (German), and speak only Anglo-Saxon (though even that is culturally tainted)?

Welcome Beenz,
Jack is living dangerously!
Your list, No,No,No,?,No,Yes.
Though our culture is very adept at taking bits and pieces from all over the place and blending it in, that is totally different to having cuckoo cultures forced into our land.

Why thank you for your kind welcome MJoSG. You've never eaten pizza? Food of the Gods, mate. A man could attain a completely balanced diet with nothing more than pizza and guinness...
