Hello BB,
I just learned from reading your reply in 'Nature of Time' that you are novelist. I guess it might be too personal too ask, but which one are you?
DO you have any books already published?
That would be my lifelong dream, but writing a novel has to wait for me.
May you have the best of luck with your current project.

I am not a full time author and I have not, unfortunately, had any books published. I have written three complete novels in all, but one of them is not publishing-material and one of them requires heavy editing. I am currently quite far in to my fourth novel, which is my favourite.
If you really are interested, I will of course notify you if (or when) my first novel gets published. It has had 7 rejections so far.
I find writing fiction a very natural (dare I say 'easy'?) process for me. I love writing things that aren't realistic, because writing is my favourite way of escaping from reality. I recommend you try to write a novel if you really want to, because it is a very rewarding thing, but it is extremely difficult to get anything published.
May I ask why the writing of a book 'has to wait', if that's not too personal?
Thanks for taking an interest though!

I did write one novella before ... but its style of writing was out of date and besides a few years later I happened to read the book of Dracula, and my story turned out to be very similar in nature, only a little more modern.....
I seriously thought of majoring in Imaginative Writing for my undergraduate program. I thought better of it, because of a possible drop in future....
I did it in Computer Science, and reasoned that on spare time, when I am already supporting myself I can write for my fancy as a hobby on the side....
It just isn't very encouraging when you look at history....
most successful writers are a success after a life that has ended with grotesque suicides, one which is spent in food stamps, poverty and depression.
So I would like a firm way out if possible.....
Anywayz on free time I tend to write poetry, short stories and now (oh thank you BBC and DNA for providing this activity) guide entries! ...
How did you get started?

I see. It's good that you find time to be creative.
How did I get started? I wrote a book. That's all. I just decided to write some and I did.

So, what do you normally do with your time?

I also write computer programs. Just recently I began developing C++/Qt applications - in my opinion the most powerful GUI development kit available. See my website at www.corfizz.com for more information (you'll find some 'amateur' presentations there - I just made them for fun really).
But again, all of these are basically 'hobbies'. I don't usually reveal what I 'normally' do with my time.
You live in Michigan don't you? Is that where Lake Michigan is? It's the fifth largest lake on the planet. I've always found that America provides so many more commercial products than where I live. Whenever I want something even vaguely obscure, I get re-directed to American web stores. Surely there can't be a zero demand for hard-drive switchers in the UK? Never mind. That's off topic.

I know what you mean.... about our web stores taking over the internet. But hey, you get that when you are a mega-country.
Yes, Lake Michigan is right next to Michigan, I haven't seen it though....
I am actually Canadian living in America....so....
Ill check out the website, it sounds kind of interesting...I do programming for a living...in fact I have an interview on Friday...with a major corporate company....(sorry cant reveal that)....
Anywayz....its all right, if you don't want to mention what you normally do.....
Have fun.....

On a side note....
I was going to leave a new message, but then I decided to use a thread that I have already started....
I noticed that under your personal space, under your friends section (thank you for including me as one), you have 'these people have BaryonicBeing... as a friend' and there's a list.
Most people's user page seems not to include that...how do you activate such a thing...for obviously
your name should show up on a similar list also shouldn't it...?

Hey, one more question BB....
I found an article whose author has left the building....
I dont think I can personally work on it... but where do I post it so that its brought to the limelight?
Thanx

You're looking for the Flea Market: Writing-FleaMarket.
Make sure the author really has left the building though, then follow the directions on the Flea Market page.

I think you'd have to request that the entry be put into the Flea Market first. If it hasn't already been in Peer Review or the Writing Workshop, however, you may need to submit it there first. Or you could try the Collaborative Writing Workshop (but it often gets ignored there).
The link, by the way, is:
