I feel so out of it right now. I spent last week up to my ears in work - one web site, design to launch, all Flash, in six days. Talk about the learning curve from hell. Still - I'm so proud of us - one designer, one content writer, one flash developer/coder(yours truly), one server ninja and one project manager, basically doing something really...improbable. It was worth the not sleeping aspect part of the job. The second version is now done, it's there, and I actually like it. If you care at all, try loading goldpocketinteractive.com.
The drawback - life whooshed on ahead without me in the mean time. I learned that my grandmother's husband passed away two days ago. I didn't really know him, but I do remember liking him when we met. I hope my grandmother, whom I really just got to know a few weeks ago, is doing okay.
My New York taxes got bounced back to me a while ago, and they've been nagging at me ever since.
I lost an apartment today - it's okay, I wasn't in love with it, but the price, space and location was right so I'm a bit ticked. I only have a few weeks until I have to move, and it's scaring me. I feel like such an outsider here, what with pronouncing my "r's" and the occasional slip of the word "y'all" into conversation. Brokers aren't terribly impressed by my non-local status.
And wow, I miss the Floor. I miss everybody. I feel so out of touch, and since my cookies don't work I can't keep track of what's new and what's, um, not.
Jason's moving this weekend and he has no phone for a while. And Chuck lost his phone - literally - to a darn roller coaster of all things. So my usual "how was your day/good night" call won't be coming in, and I'm going to miss it.
I've put my hair in braids because it's way too long. Liz and I are going drinking. I think. More work over the weekend but I'm not going to think about it tonight...

Ummmm... I hope you'll forgive me for ignoring the rest of your message as I surfed over to that site and have barely managed to tear my wide-eyed stare from it long enough to write this much...

...and no I wasn't kidding. *picks lower jaw up from floor* It's very cool and flashy without sacrificing function to form, a rare combination. Damned impressive. And definitely exciting enough to lose sleep over.
I need someone to do that for our company. The interface elements are (!!!!) How'd that get in there? It's Friday night fer cryin out loud! Work mode's gonna have to take a hike for a bit.
Hm, well, the geek bit really doesn't turn off though. But you'll find a better apartment and cookies that work and brokers that aren't asses and time to prevent life whooshing by so much and...
*hugs*

Alex found an ad for goldpocket on the back of the magazine that comes in the Sunday Peper. I foget the name. I know she is registered, and wants to know if she has to download all the new stuff. she just finished downloading all the old stuff. Hope you two had fun getting out there last night. It serves wonderfully to take a break.

Um, Kate: Wow! I mean... WOW!
Meanwhile, how does one lose a phone to a roller coaster? In a game of poker or something, I guess.
Meanwhile, when did I start saying 'meanwhile' at the beginning of sentences? Think I'll wander off dazed and confused for a while...

A cell phone, a loose pocket clip, and a roller coaster with a loop don't mix.

bubster Posted Jul 9, 2000

I think there's something in that for all of us.

*fixes a loose pocket clip to bubster, sits him in a foller coaster seat without setting down the guard rail, and sends the car off to the loop*
Call it an expairament, if you will.
