So my left ear decided, this morning, to not work for a bit. It's amazing how when something's wrong with your ear, you really can't do much of anything - balance, concentration, and emotional stability all seem to vanish with ear infections.

And so I spent the morning at the Eye and Ear Infirmary, and I have to say, the hospitals here seem to be much more user-friendly than the ones in New York. The entire experience was nothing short of pleasant, and I walked out feeling about 100 times better than I had going in.

With that over and done with (aside from a week of home treatments for the ear), the afternoon stretches before me and I think I'll do nothing for a while...

No.. no I'm sorry. That wasn't nice. It's just that I can remember my own inner ear problems and how much trouble I had remaining upright much less walking and so I think that falling over is funny. smiley - smiley

What did the infermatories think of your problem? Did they give you drops? pills? a good whack in the head? What?

*sits around and waits to hear more*

Well, if you've done the hideous ear infection thing, then you'll know what I mean when I say it's too gross to go into detail about what they did to my ear at the infirmary. I will say that my inner ear was swollen enough to prevent anything from going in (sound) or coming out (icky ear stuff), thus creating a fair amount of pressure on the old brain. Good times, good times...

I have some serious antibiotic drops that I have to administer 4 times a day through Wednesday. I'm lucky I have tomorrow off, because putting the drops in at work was a serious hassle (there's no such thing as ten free minutes!) Anyway, I'm feeling about a zillion times better, and enjoying having my regular state of balance and coordination - which, granted, isn't much - intact. smiley - smiley
