Well, I'm back in Boston. Debating whether or not to visit NY next weekend - if I can get away, I probably will.
The wedding was...surreal. I did get to meet all of my father's siblings and my grandmother - I mean, I've seen them before, but I was too young to remember them. Something you don't notice when you're a young kid is that the adults around you have personalities - shocker. It was great fun catching up on what they've done for the past 15 years. Funny how five people who live halfway around the globe can be so familiar - same faces, same mannerisms, same senses of humor.
I also got to spend some time with my own siblings. The three of us don't get together at once very often, so that was a treat.
And dad is now married again. And life goes on.
I have to go find out where work moved to while I was gone...

Glad you enjoyed it.
Good luck finding the work you seem to have misplaced - they tell me if you start on your desk you can usually find *something* to concern yourself with..!
Regards,
H.

I remember attending my father's wedding to my stepmother. It was at the cabin in GA. Small ceromony, most of the family from my father's side were there seeing cousins i haven't seen since. My brother and i were the best men. I remember being uncomfortable in the suit. I had purchace it used from the Junkman's Daughter, back when Little 5 Points was a hangout for bikers, dead-heads, and really interesting people. Now Little 5 is full of yuppies and SUV's. When i went there in my Ren-fest clothes, people stared in the way one would stare at a dog with 7 legs. Before i would have been lost in the crowd. I miss crazy Eddie.

My dad took my stepmom to New Zeland to get married. I didn't get to know her very well until after the wedding. I'm glad you had a good time Kate.

P.S. I re-read Kate's journal entry and realised that I know what she's saying about how odd it is to see distantly located relatives, too. Every time I see my Canadian cousins, which happens, on average, about every five years, I am reminded of what *I* must look like to other people. They seem so reserved, and yet so similar... It's hard to reconcile those two impressions, I confess...

I have many many cousins and extended family. I have never, and probably will never meet most of them. I've meet people at family reunions that i knew personally but didn't know they were family. Until the past 2 or so generations, it was not uncommon for a couple to have 13 kids.
