Doing the bills, taking a shower, cleaning the apartment, contacting my employers, updating matineemag.com, working on Floor 42, working on the new website, working on anything at all, unpacking my travel bag, subbing my latest batch of articles, calling Casey, calling my dad, calling the cat sitter, returning e-mail, harvesting quotes, eating breakfast (which I never do anyway but now I'm hungry so it counts), going for a run or at least a walk...nope, all I've done today is read a few things and play with the cat

Occasionally I get home from work at what seems to me a ridiculously late hour. Like last night (my time - call it tonight if that helps you). So, anyway, after getting home around midnight and playing on the computer for an hour or so (to "unwind", you understand), I found myself sitting on the back step with my - now somewhat too large - puppies both trying to play and to sleep on my lap.
It was very calming. Who needs sleep anyway? There was a point to all this. No, really.
