h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I'm listening to Madness at the moment, and I'm realising what a truly great band they are. The keyboards, the pianos, the saxophones and the wonderfully funny but equally amazing vocals. The songs of Madness make you think, even if that wasn't the intention. Some bands you listen to just because they have a nice sound. Some bands you listen to because everyone else does. But you choose to listen Madness, and every time you do so you discover something more wondrous than you could possibly believe. Madness were the best band of the eighties in my opinion, and should be treated with just as much respect as the other geniuses of the band type, such as Queen and The Beatles. Madness have a very different sound; they are almost a musical genre of their own. Madness should be treasured and listened to as much as possible. If you have a Madness song in any form, whether it be record, tape, CD, minidisc or the like, I beg you to play it now, and realise, like I have, that it would be mad not to listen to Madness.
