Jeez! For more proof of this, read the book The Idiots are Running the Alylum, which is just a collection of stories like those. Here's a proof that I found:

I recently bought a new computerized camera with many fancy functions such as multi focus and battery conservation. I was trying to take a panorama picture with it of a wonderful scene, and was experementing with the camera's different functions. When I hit the take button, the computer decided that there was too much pull on the battery power and therefor refused to take the picture. I gave up, exasperated, and was putting the camera away when it changed it's mind. It decided that it had concerved enough battery power, and remembered that someone had asked for a picture. It took a picture as I was putting it up, so the picture was of my knee and the camera bag.

I have seen a full film taken by someone who was holding the camera the wrong way round.

Their first use of the new equipment was on holiday in Greece, and their portfolio of snaps consisted of views from the Parthenon, etc., with an ultra close-up of their right ear in the foreground.

The camera was one with an offset, seperate viewfinder, and its proud new owner had thought that it had been difficult to see through in use. The prize idiot had complained that the camera was malfunctioning.

The really irritating thing was that this berk left the camera shop believing that it was my fault for not showing him how to use the thing properly. I suppose that is the reason that idiots survive and reproduce: things are always someone else's fault, and their outlook on life is clouded by the presence of a huge ear in the foreground, thus creating the illusion that the future holds no pitfalls for them to be wary of
