I forgot to take my towel
aka Bel - A87832164 Started conversation Sep 28, 2005
I did it - after about 18 months of abstinence, I returned to my sports class today
Meanwhile, the weekday has changed, as have the starting time, the gym and the instructor, but hey - what can you expect after such a long time
Yesterday, i told my colleague that I'd finally start going again.
This afternoon, I suddenly had a pain in the back - it was nasty, but I thought by myself - , now I won't have to go after all, with a back like that, there's just no point
I then started wondering if the pain could be psychosomatic - to prevent me from doing something as healthy as sports
When I was about to pick up the phone to tell my colleague that I wouldn't come after all , I suddenly realised that the pain was gone and I could move again
So now there was no excuse for not going
The instructor is a young Russian called Olga . ( Don't know about you, but I found it slightly scaring )
When we went to get the mats for the exercises, one spring board attacked me, and now I have a bruised arm
After 20 minutes of warm-up my head started itching - my hear is so long, it's like wearing a woollen cap in summer, so a visit to the hairdresser's is due
All in all I had a really good time

Well, that's what I intend to do - intended to do so for months already
But at my age, and having gained so much weight that some of the exercises proved to be quite frustrating, I just know that I have to go

, I really can need it, I'm just so lazy, and spending time here often is more attractive than facing RL

Yes, that's a really comforting thought
But then theoretically, it's easy to lose weight - just stop eating sweets and crisps, and drinking wine and beer, and you're losing weight. Atleast you stop putting on kilos

Good idea, but I wouldn't wnat to alone, and now it's ´dark again early in the mornings, so I'd probably hit a hole in the ground, or something like that and break my feet

Somewhat belated, but you know I'm proud of you, Lady B'El, ... for taking the plunge and giving it a try.

I'm proud of you too! It's really tough getting back into something when you don't really want to, and curling up at home is always a more attractive option than getting sweaty and tired. So, well done
Now you just have to keep it up!
And you're PS thread header says "Oi" at me! Why are you yelling to attract my attention?
EG
"Oi you! Why the hell are you in my garden?!"

Hang in there! Hopefully, once the bruise and the sore muscles calm down you will feel more energetic. I pay for a weekly ballet class just to make sure I get some exercise beyond the (mostly) daily mile walked that the chiropractor insists on. Never could run. It gives me

for all your encouraging comments
The funny thing is, that I KNOW it's good for me, and yet it took me so long to start going again. I'm just a master of procrastination and good excuses
And I'm extremely unorganised, which makes things more difficult

That's good ,pheloxi, you just take care of your eyes, once they're ok again, you can start exercising by pulling faces in front of the mirror
