I'd like to propose Back to Entry
This is an opinion piece and only mentions six film series. I'd expect a review on this topic to at least discuss the most popular film series of all time, such as the James Bond films, the 'Odd Numbered Trek Curse', Star Wars and Pink Panther films, rather than a few obscure ones.
