Yes...I hated living in Texas as well. The weather is just horrible, isn't it? One question: Do you like (or can you even stand) the TV ads belting out the "Texas goes for trucks in a Texas-size way.."?

Joyfully escaped,

I hated those ads as well...some people seemed to love them though...
I lived about 80 miles east of Dallas along I-30; a town called Sulphur Springs.

I find them to be... I think it was partly where I lived and what my political/religious beliefs were. Rural East Texas is not known for its tolerance of outsiders: one often hears the phrase "You ain't from 'round here, are you? You don't know how it's supposed to work..." Very hard people to get along with unless you agreed with them (there were some very reasonable, friendly people, but most were incredibly annoying to be around).

Small thing, but that should say "...political/religious beliefs are" (they didn't change me... smiley - smiley )

Oh yes I forgot!!! I could see people from east Texas not being the most friendly!!! I couldn't live there!! I know I have driven through Vidor on my way to New Orleans, and they were not the most friendiest people!! Kind of got strange looks!!!
