You'd think I'd have learned by now.
After enough screwing around and causing life difficult for myself, you'd think I'd have realized that, when happily throwing your entire body and soul into a job, there are three cardinal rules you must obey:

Rule 1: Don't let yourself distracted. No TV, no gaming, no long quests to save the princess or recapture the abandoned terran outpost. Just work. It'll get done faster and you'll be able to concentrate.
Rule 2: No relationships. The last thing you need while trying to troubleshoot why SVR4 systems aren't properly sharing memory structures is to randomly let the mind wander and spend 4 hours picking apart a conversation you and the SO had last night about eggplant, and what exactly that means for your relationship. (This is seperate from Rule 1 simply because the distractionary outcome of 17 long-range fighters on your six are nothing compared to the destructive powers of a woman scorned.)
Rule 3: If, for some unknown reason you find yourself in or at the cusp of a relationship (thumbing your nose at Rule 2), then under NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER should you provide services to, work with, for, or over, or in any way shape or form engage in real live work/client/customer relations with, your SO or potential SO.

I have, in the last seven days, broken all three of those rules. I'm now way way behind, my target launch date has to be pushed back, and for the life of me I can't tell what's working with my project and what's not.
This is so bad it's not even funny.
