Meeting of old friends

Tomorrow I'm going to meet up with an old friend from primary school. Actually she was my best friend, but she moved quite far away during year 4 and we gradually lost contact. However, we recently started talking online and texting each other again, and as she's coming back to visit her family tomorrow, we're going to meet up. This should be a good happy thing but I'm not really looking forward to it because we've both changed a lot. As my mum put it: I'm a punk and she's a chav. (Very shocked my mum knows those words, let alone what they mean, but that's not the point). The point is that I hope we get on, I hope she's cool.
Wish me luck!!

Thanks.
It didnt go too badly. It wasnt exactly a special reunion, we just kinda said hi and then went ice skating. Her and her friend talked between themselves a lot and I didnt say much. There wasnt much to say as we have nothing in common and dont know each other any more. Then they wanted to go shopping so I stayed for a little while (we dont even go to the same type of shops. They can spend forever in Topshop etc, which I never go in and would never wear any of the clothes, and my favourite shops are music shops and 'goth shops'.) and them made an excuse and left after lunch. I got the feeling they wouldnt miss me.
But we got on ok I suppose, it was weird to see her again and I think next time I'll drag one of my mates along for someone else to talk to.

Sounds like a good idea to take a friend or two along with you if she has her own gang tagging along with her...
Maybe she'll see that you've grown apart and might just want to keep in touch on the phone now n again...
It will be good to stay mates but if you've nothing in common now it would be fruitless to hang out together just for the sake of it... Maybe birthdays n stuff you could exchange a bit of a natter to find out how each other is doin in life...
