h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It's that lovely time of the week, yet again. I think I'll start doing this every Wednesday when I have time.

There are people next door digging a well. It makes the most delightfully sloshy noises. My darling little brother is stowed at driver’s ed for six weeks, sing glory be hallelujah, and is out of the house suffering at Elberta. I’m looking exceptionally lovely today, for some odd reason, so I may leave the house. Dog handling class again tonight, and I got paid yesterday. YAY!

This week, our sponsor for Stacy’s Closet Competition is…er, the letter N and the theme is ‘night.’ Flying Betty was the winner of last week’s competition. All winners should record the number of wins they get just in case mine aren’t accurate. I give you three days to answer before the competition is closed. As usual, the prize for the winning question (and yes, you have to answer all of the others to qualify) is a week in my closet with three walks, three or four meals, a bath, and a few belly rubs a day. Apparently, the belly rubs are the best part.

Where is your favorite place to sleep, excepting, of course, the standard bed?

What is your most common dream?

Not becuase she is scaread of the dark, but becuase the dark is scared of her.

I start with 2 but they disapear.

Depends on season, weather, time. Season, becuase its to damm cold to hav ethe windows open in the winter, and also eletrical equipment doesn't like rain. And of course if its after 7:00 in the morning people make noises.

The big comfy chairs upstairs.

Axctuly., its one about flying out of my bed running up a coridor and triping, no idea why.

I said drapes, not the actual panes, dear.

Because then the ghosts can't see her and won't keep her company

Curtains open if I'm in a place that isn't sketchy. It's just nicer that way. Windows open at all possible opportunities. For those of you familiar with the NE US, this means about late April to mid September.

The deciding question: Why doesn’t Stacy like to sleep in a pitch-black room? Possibly due to the thoughts based in childhood and those dreadful stories of those, ahem, monsters residing in your closet.

How many pillows do you sleep with? Two. Well, one under my head, and one to the side. It's a double bed. Must have...symmetry. Moving on.

Do you sleep with your blinds/curtains/drapes open? Why or why not? I have curtains made of this white material that lets some light in, but they don't really show the outside world or anything. I like them because I don't have to remember to close them when I get dressed, and yet the room isn't dark. Yay.

Where is your favorite place to sleep, excepting, of course, the standard bed? Oh, wow. Hm. The car, maybe? Something about the lull.

What is your most common dream? I can't say that I have one. I dreampt last night that my mother thought I was pregnant, and I was trying to convince her that I'm not. It was possibly one of the strangest dreams I've had, and if it becomes common, there will be death. I've had lots of driving dreams, strangely.

I don't think I have any recurring dreams. Well I dream I'm in school and have done naughty things like skipping lessons and not doing homework a lot I suppose. But now I don't have school any more .

The curtains only shut on days when there is to much light then. The widow nearest my bed that is the biggest gets shut if the window is shut, just due to instinct most of the time

Because it's pitch black, and it's hard to tell if sherman's about to pounce onto the bed when it's pitch black.

Two, I sleep sideways, and need my pillows.

Closed, well, it's hard to sleep with the midnight sun in your face, and it keeps wasps out.

I love anywhere there's an opportunity to use sleeping bags, but I would have to say that Stacy's closet is the best one.

When I was little, I used to dream that I jumped off a cliff, and enjoyed falling. Nowadays, well, I've had a recurring dream about my friends being trapped in a revolving door.

(the show's going quite well. there are many beautiful menfolks, with prettiful voices. make-you-pass-out kind of gorgeous. or at least oggle for a while. *drools* you must come see it when we start the run...hopefully by then i can introduce you to hottt jamie and bradley and tripp. when i...uh...start...talking to them. right. carry on, then.)

I've been trapped in a revolving door. Kurt, my da's boss/counter at that time, was in there with me. My dad sat in the hotel lobby having a fit while I braided his hair...

Well, the fun bit is when the firemen come to get them out of there. They come with the firehose, and... I dunno how they do it, but they sort of _flush_ them out. This is in my dream, anyways.

Hahahaha, flush them out, you say?

Okay, and this week's winner is...*drumroll*

Stacy doesn't like to sleep in pitch-black rooms because she wants forewarning of an incoming Sherman-fish.

I sleep with three pillows, depending on who/what/and if I am sleeping with.

I like to sleep with my curtains open so I get sunlight in the morning. My mother promptly shuts them, saying that people could be looking in; but, if they want to see me so badly, wouldn't they find another way?

I think outside on the ground is my favorite alternative sleeping place.

My most common that I've had since I was eighteen months old is kind of cool. I'm in this magnificent and HUGE terraced garden. It's not terraced like you'd think. It looks like an inverted pyramid with a flat spot in the middle. In the flat spot, there's this shed that's so old the wood is gray. I'm walking around and around, spiralling up on the levels and there's someone in the shed. It still scares the pee out of me.

Oh, the winner. Carrot gets it this week.

Oh well.
