Is the dolphin image on the front page copyright Getty? Don't the beeb have their own image library? Don't they have the couple of quid for a royalty free image?

Getty is a company that sells images, as far as I'm aware they're not part of the beeb. I think they may even be American. For each image that the beeb use they'd have to pay a fee. So they're paying for that dolphin image. I don't know what deal they have, whether it's pay per view or a flat fee, but you'd think with all the nature programmes they've done over the years they'd have their own picture of a dolphin.
I do remember they got some stick a while ago about a similar thing, I'll have to find the link...

It's probably cheaper to pay for an image than actually go through all your stuff and categorise it.
