I see that the servers haven't sped up any in the month I've been lurking. New log in system, new colours in Brunel, well I've only just noticed them anyway, but still the lag and timeouts.
For anyone that's interested, I'm still employed, but only as long as the company is still floating. Which is really annoying because the cash is coming in, it's just getting creamed off at the higher echelons and not coming down to the people who are actually doing all the bleeding work for the company. I thought it was illegal for someone in a company to fork out just over a quater of a million squid to their own business to develop something, something akin to fraud isn't it? But I'm not supposed to be talking about that.

A quarter of a million squid is a lot of fish. Who is the fish monger on the side.

Hey there, DD. Long time, no crossed paths.
Pastey, skimming not only fails to be illegal. It's downright encouraged. Welcome to capitalism. There are laws against insane skimming if you're running a charity, but otherwise it's a blank check.
This is not to say I agree with it...

copy of Socalis' Worker anyone?
(of course that sounds silly said in my shamefully middle class accent )

Munchkin Posted Oct 20, 2003
Well actually Socalis' Worker sounds like a treatise by an emminent ancient Greek and so fits very well with a middle class accent.
And now, back to Pastey's journal.

I was sure that there was something in coporate law that means for spending over a certain amount the funds have to be cleared by at least some other people, preferable accounts. Rather than one guy just handing in a reciept and taking the money straight out of the company bank account without even telling people what it was for until afterwards.
Hi all by the way, nice to see people still hanging around!
How are things for you all?

Weird! As usual. I'm a tad busy to do more than point you in the general direction of my journal, though.

You know, really we should have an Old Foggies Club, for all us h2g2's that have been around for ages and only pop in every once and again now. Darn this real life stuff.

That would be terrifically cool. I can easily imagine a lot of the old hands signing up - when they got around to it.

That would be the problem wouldn't it, getting around to it. Noticing it on those odd occasions when you're back online
