Higher Authority: Religious Law, or National Law?

When you think about it Religious views are like poitical views. They're views that you hold in common with people from your religion just as political party members share their views.
I'm not religious but I like to think that I hold views that I "believe" and I would not break even if the laws of the land required me to.
