Yes, don't create a new entry if want to update an existing entry whilst it is in Peer Review. You can edit an entry as much as you like until it gets picked by a Scout and accepted by the Eds.
If this entry (A46568082) is the one you now want to keep, can you please go to the other one (A46510283), first remove it from Peer Review and then delete it.
Thank you

Many thanks. Didn't realise both were still open. Have deleted old entry and kept new one as revised after comments.

Hi Captain
Could you possibly remove the first-person references as per the <./>writing-guidelines</.>?
C124 is the page of recipes that we already have in the Edited Guide, you can click on any of those and see the layout if that helps

Hi there
Will do if you wish, but earlier on I was asked to personalise it, put in where I got the recipe and add what makes it special.
The original was just the recipe.

I think you could 'de-personalise it by saying:
This recipe was given to the present author many years ago (19xx) by the mother of a dear friend, Sheila Gandhi.
(I think you will get away with leaving 'Sheila Ghandi in as she sounds Indian, and so gives a touch of authenticity to the recipe

What a patronising lot of tosh. She was Indian,as was her mother and probably uncountable generations of her family. The recipe is just that. A recipe. It is authentic Indian and very easy to prepare and absolutely magnificent to eat. For these reasons alone it is worth sharing - she shared it with me. There is no political bias or attitude in this.
Oh by the way, I am left handed and would never want you to be my patron saint - not with that attitude.
Sorry.

I'd just take the line out - it doesn't add anything to the recipe.
Is this still being worked on?

Captain_Lethargy Posted Apr 4, 2009
No, it's not being worked on.
I'm disillusioned with the site.
All I wanted to do was post an excellent recipe that was given to me by an old friend and all I got was conflicting information and patronising rubbish.
Personalise it,It's too Personalised,Say where you got it, Don't bother with where you got it.
Originally all I posted was the recipe which is very good and well worth sharing - that's how I got it.
But I don't even bother coming to the site now. This is the first time for ages.

That's what you get when there are multiple people critiquing - having to sort out which advice to follow and where to say "No thanks". I don't see anyone being patronising, but it's your call.
If you don't want to continue working on it, please remove it from PR (go back to Peer Review and click on the "X" beside your Entry) so we can have a better overview of what's in the works.

The post from Big Al:
(I think you will get away with leaving 'Sheila Ghandi in as she sounds Indian, and so gives a touch of authenticity to the recipe)
If not racist very patronising.
Maybe the fault of the site is too many people critiquing. If they can't work to a common standard what chance is there for eveyone else?
As I have said it's just a remarkably good recipe that has been passed to me by a friend that is well worth sharing.
Will think about it.

There is a common standard that someone ought to have pointed you to: Writing-Guidelines.

Answer to post 12:
Hope you've thought about it and decided to maintain the recipe. Shrug off your irritation and 'show us all' by adding a recipe for nan (cheese nan if possible)
[A cheese nan that cannot go wrong if it exists]

Captain_Lethargy Posted May 23, 2009
A cheese nan. Now what would that go with?
Could be really interesting. Now if Sheila was still alive she would rise to that challenge. I will have a think about how she would do this and get back to you.

As it happens I've just finished eating my first attempt !
Not bad but the cooking itself wasn't perfect (under the grill and finished off in a non-stick frying pan)
