And so much truth. I bought a wafflemaker last weekend, but I haven't gotten around to testing it yet. I've been looking for a while to get a proper iron with four hearts, and not the five heart abominations that are most common.

What is wrong with five hearts?

With a four heart iron you get waffels that can easily be folded along the middle, or split along the middle into to halves that can also be folded along the middle, or split in two. With five hearts you can't do this without folding or tearing one of the individual hearts, which is a bad thing.

Or maybe it's just that I grew up with a four heart iron.

My friend says that the five heart iron will symbolise the human beings. One of the hearts will be the head, and the rest will be the arms and legs. An iron with four hearts will only symbolise the arms and the legs, and therefore a human being with no head.

Your iron is therefore beheaded!

The four hearts more correctly represents the actual human heart, which has four chambers. It can also represent the four elements of ancient philosophy, or the four points of the compass, or a four leaf cloverl.

Or if you want to follow the principles of numerology...

Four is the number of completion, stability, security, and structure. and also family. The four heart waffle iron will fit if you want to make everyone eating waffles filled with harmony.

Four was the number of structure and stability. The introduction of the number five, another element in the mix, upsets that balance. At the same time, five symbolizes change, freedom, adventure, and adaptability. Therefore, the five heart iron is for those who are a little more wild and adventurous.

Security and stability is what I look for in a waffle.
