Well I've grown up going to Irish dances locally with my parents, so I guess it doesn't surprise me any more.

Talk about small world - I'm going to Ireland tomorrow. And to make matters worse (in a small-world sense), I'm planning on being in London next week.

So if we see a shifty-looking character skulking around Covent Garden clutching a towel, we'll know who it is?

Yes, a green towel. I'll have a camcorder, too. smiley - smiley

Gary, any more of these coincidences and we'll have Mulder and Sculley poking about with flashlights.

Next you'll be telling us you were at Clare in the late eighties and that you know Brunsum and Osnabrück really well ...

It was Queens' actually (Clare was my second choice, because I was advised that Mem. Court's a bit draughty). I know Heerlen and some of my colleagues live in Sittard, Kerkrade and Maastricht, but sadly I can't say I've visited Brunssum.

As for Osnabruck, that's a complete miss I'm afraid. What a relief!

Just for the record, Mem. Court isn't draughty, just very cold, as only the UL is between it and Siberia. Mind you, the UL is a pretty good windbreak......
(yes, yet another MA(Cantab) they cry!)

UL? Luxury! We had to make do with a hedge and some Barbara Hepworth sculptures.

Still, having the best darkroom, cinema, net connection and parking made up for it smiley - winkeye
