Hi Deborah,
<>
I've been doing bits and pieces on this since it was posted.
Sgt Moore does not appear as a casualty in 1944 and also does not seem to have been onboard a main force loss of No.102 Sqn in Aug/Sept.
I'm going to confirm that he was not a PoW at the weekend when I get near my paper files.
This leaves the possibility that he was posted away.
The best place to look for this information is in the Squadron ORB at the Public Record Office, Kew. I see that the chap has also written to RAF Innsworth to get a copy of this grandfather's service record. Once this comes then he can check for mentions in Unit ORBs for both men.
I have also e-mailed a friend who has a data base of Halifax photos to see if he has one of MZ300 but I'm waiting for a reply.
So, on the case already just waiting for answers before suggesting the best course of action.
Regards
Ross
