Oooh, lovely, I was hoping you would say that. I love photos
I am a bit worried about your light coloured carpet with *bear* feet though - big claws could make an awful mess of it
Light and airy is lovely now you will not have big boys boots galumping about all the time (sorry boys!)

PS somehow I will email granny details tomorrow. Today has been hectic again what with phone calls, texts, emails and callers. A big arrangement of flowers arrived this morning - I thought it was misdirected for the new Mum, but turns out they were for me from a good friend in honour of my elevation!

You've just reminded me, I ought to cut my toenails!
I think that's the best bit about this new place - no long line up of the lads' trainers all along the hall Apparently last time I was under anesthetic I was grumbling about "The amount of shoes you've got (Youngest)! You've only got 2 feet for godssake"
And so someone *ought* to send flowers to you to congratulate you on your new status Webbie. Being a grandmother is kinda special, after all
Right. We've breakfasted, we're almost ready to get back down. Eldest came in absolutely knackered and paint splattered and proud of himself.
This time next week I should be actually living there. I can't believe its all gone so fast

Just thought I would give this a nudge up the list Ev, in case you get online any day soon. Hope all went well. At least the weather has been kind so far.

Cheers
Started the move Friday evening..collecting a settee from over in Broardstairs (an adventure in itself) and then got going Saturday - one very overhung son, one gentlemen of over 60..and me!
God alone knows how we(!) did it!
But did it we did. The men carried the boxes in, and I stashed the contents away before they brought the net lot in. By Saturday evening 3 very tired dish rags could hardly raise a celebratory let alone a dlass of that I reckoned we'd all earned several times over
Its all taking shape pretty nicely, really - I'm still waiting on the storage unit to be built in, but everything else is almost done! Its just a matter of getting that unit sorted and then I can re-snaffle my PC and phone line And put all my books away.
Oh yes...and take loads of my pictures back to store in the lads' loft; I can't bring myself to throw them out, but some of them are too big for the walls, and I've run out of spaces to hang many more! Ruddy hall looks like a badly made Art Gallery (can't hang pictures straight for toffee!)
I'm popping into the Lads' at least every other day, to pick up the bits and bods I've left, and - in truth - to keep a motherly eye on the little s
I think I'm going to enjoy living on my own... but it doesn't half feel weird, somehow. just doing things to please myself and having no one to run around after!
On the whole thoug, I reckon I could really get used to it
Hope all's good with yourselves

*hic*, Hello Lil, fancy seeing you here Didn't she do well moving in a weekend?
Ev, I am so pleased it went well and you are making progress. So you have two homes at present, but at least you can escape when you need to now
Pictures not hanging straight drive me so it is as well I can't see. Perhaps you can switch them round with the ones in the loft after a few months for a change of scenery and give them all an airing from time to time.

*Bump*
Looks like I'll be off line from end March thru April (ISP providers are being a bit slow
All - apart from lack of phone line is going good - I have more plants and seeds and shrubs to plant and play with than you can shake a stick at...
and a small *greenhouse* as well!
Be good, children and see you soon

I'd *like to Webbie - but they only deal on the landline (which they've already removed from the "old" flat but haven't put into the "new" flat)... or e mail, which of course I haven't got ...because I haven't got a landline!!!
(And I refuse point blank to give em my mobile number! I'm not 21st Century enough to think of a mobile as anything other than "emergency" contact, and I'm tight as a tick when it comes to topping the mobile up)
On the plus side.... at least I don't have any phone or internet bills pro tem
I appear to have 2 Morning Glorys that have sucessfully sprouted from seed and I've got Honeysuckle, and Passionflower and a climbing Ena Harkness Rose in planters, that by this time next year will have clambered around my window and look pretty and smell nice, too.
I can't believe just how much I've missed messing about in a garden
- this afternoon I'll set some runner beans ready for the summer. And to fill in the gaps I'll have Sweet Peas growing with them, and marigolds between the wigwams cos it isn't a garden without Sweet Peas or Marigolds, and apparently they're good for pollination *and pest control.
And Sunflowers for the seeds for the birds come winter.
And I've got a load of herbs all planted right next to the back door and burgeoning nicely!
I need never rely on going to the Supermarket to have a few flowers in a vase again or to buy sad little containers of herbs for the food I cremate!

Websailor Posted Mar 22, 2010
You really are settling in, and it is interesting to see how you missed a garden. I am not a gardener, but I would really miss having my own patch. I have only had two years or my life without one and I hated it.
If you get the chance check out Nigel's article about sweet peas in It seems he picked a very topical subject
with growing your flowers and goodies, and getting your phone line and internet up and running. I agree with you on mobiles. Access severley restricted on mine too

Hey... just seen this!
From what I remember of Easter Webbie, I'm pretty certain it was good. It certainly involved chocolate
But then, chocolate is usually involved in quite a lot of my doings!
