h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Been back a week now, thought I'd jot my thoughts down on this handy site.

I'm not convinced skiing is my sport, really, although I had a great time out there with my friends. I had too much trouble trying to get up after I fell over, which is a symptom of my lack of fitness more than anything else. I was starting to enjoy it by the end of the week, though, so maybe there's hope. I have to say that golf sounds more my sort of sport though. Whenever I think of it, though, Mark Twain's line about it being a good walk spoiled comes to mind...

In other news, I'm seeing a sparky Welsh girl called Michelle, who is really nice. And very Welsh. I'm quite looking forward to the Wales/England Rugby 6 Nations game, where I am confident we will bury them. Might even be able to see the game live at Twickenham!

I enjoyed skiing much more on my second go at it, so give it another try sometime. If you still don't like it then concentrate on the apres-ski partying!

I think it was my lack of fitness and unwillingness to do lots of skiing lessons that detracted from my enjoyment of the skiing experience. That said, I was looking reasonably proficient at the end of the week. The apres-ski is very lively and very good fun, and its a very young and groovy crowd. I probably will go again next year, finances permitting. Have you been? Where did you go?
