h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Here are some ideas for the coffeeshop.

I know that one ought to work because it works for a coffeeshop called C1 in christchurch NZ. They are quiet sucessfull for the simple reason that they use their own brand of beans, called C4. So people now where the coffee is coming from and they now it's always the same. Another good idea are bagels. Bagels are great, i love bagels, and i personally belief they belong to a coffeeshop. That might be because i love bagels, i don't know.

I love bagels too and I think they are definetly doable for a coffee shop...especially doable if I just open with a staff of one.
I have about two and a half years to do my research...but during that time I am going to be searching for a lowcost way to find or rent a property(I will have my master's degree in 2 and a half years).
Don't worry about the fact that the C1 link links back to the h2g2 page...I will find it on the web somewhere. I wonder how they go about having their own brand...either paid someone to create it or they know how to grow coffee beans.

Well they obviously know how to grow coffee beans...I found the site...but you can only order at it right now...they are re-engineering into a flash site..."C4 Roasting and C1 cafe."
I added it to my favorite sites and will check back every once in a while.

What about opening a h2g2 coffeeshop. Like u could have a computer and internet acsess in there for people go use the guide, u could put the books by DNA in there and sell some funny sounding foot in there, including that cocktail thingy from Hitchhikers Guide (i forgot the name of the cocktail )

Isn't it something like a "pangalactic garglebanger" and there is one that is something like "old janx spirit." I lent my copy of Hitchhiker's to my boyfriend for the summer because I really want him to enjoy it...I think the names were something like that...don't remember if there were descriptions of what they looked like.

Would have to make them nonalcoholic...have to have many more bathrooms to serve alcohol according to the laws...unless I could find a building equipped with lots of restrooms.

I think that it is a great idea to at least have some DNA things in a coffeeshop...seems like a coffeeshop kind of thing.

well, that's with the alcohol is true, i forgot about the different laws . well, i think you could just do non-alcoholic stuff. And what bout some crazy bagles like a "goodbye and thanks for the fish" bagle and some other DNA stuff. And for the furniture you could get some inspiration from the discription of the Restuarant at the end of the universe in the book .

Because I live in the midwestern US...I would branch into such an idea slowly...maybe the whole back wall as you come in could be a DNA section...draws the attention and would create an interest/need...then slowly have it take over....
like a supernova.
