Has anyone read his books? I´m sure someone has 
There is a similar thought in The Belgariad like in the Star Wars: the evil God is offering himself to be a father for Garion - whose parents have died and he doesn´t have a father. Garion is one of the good and he is supposed to kill Torak - the evil god. Sounds common?
