This is a personal collection of some of my favourite restaurants and tapa bars in Seville.
http://sevilletapas.wordpress.com/
The blog is set up so that each restaurant and tapa bar has its own archive page, which can be found on the drop down categories menu in the sidebar.
Comments and queries can be left on the various posts.
Or else here, if you prefer.
Enjoy

Oh brilliant idea!! Well done!!
I am still having withdrawal symptoms from not having tasted Teresa's house wine and ham for over a year now. Am still trying to persuade hubby to come. Possibly at autumn half term. (8-19 Oct) -
Teuchter - remember we vaguely talked about October in Seville (I'm not sure which year, mind you!)

Thanks, TC.
You probably remember the Fotki 'tapitas album', and I also created a page on my blog with mini-reviews linking to the Fotki pics, but I thought it would be a good idea to have everything together like this.
What do you think of the page itself? Easy to navigate, etc? Do you like how it looks? I had originally started with a dark theme (you can still see it if you click on the sun for the Spanish version) but it doesn't open directly on the posts when you click on a name on the Category menu. With the present theme you only have to scroll down the page to see all the posts, rather than go back and click on the next one, which I think is more user friendly.
I'm also thinking of asking some bars for menus that I can take home and scan, which would then appear in a separate post. And maybe some places might even give me a recipe or two.
Ah well, keeps me busy ...
Looks like October might be a busy month as at least three other hootooers have expressed an interest in visiting then. The more the merrier.

I like the page - it's easy to navigate. You don't mention price categories anywhere, as far as I can see. This would require extra work, of course, though, with annual updates. You've certainly done a brilliant job with all the photography. Makes one's mouth water!!

azahar Posted Aug 22, 2007
Well, I still have to rewrite all the little 'reviews' so it would be easy enough to put in a €€€€ scale thingy (€ for cheap and €€€€ for expensive, etc,) which wouldn't require much updating.
The menus (if I could get any) would need to be updated about once a year or so.
I've seen a few websites about tapa bars and restaurants in Sevilla, but none with photos of each place. I think having a picture of the 'ambientation' as well as a couple of food pics adds to the appeal.
It also means that I'm going to have get out to a few more favourite places, especially in Triana, to get some photos ... ah, the sacrifices I make for 'my public'.

Quite a few more pics have been added lately (though I still have to work on the text). We found a new place that is quite wonderful...

And there are a few new pics here for the brekky bar...

Oh right, already said that, about the sacrifices ... it's true though. I mean, do you think we actually LIKE going out and eating all this fabulous stuff???

Of course you don't.
I guess you'll soon take us to court to get compensation for all your suffering.

You're going to have lots of people coming just for the food if ever there's another Seville meet!

azahar Posted Sep 11, 2007
Now there's a thought! You know, it's not just the new research and *going where no az has gone before* , but also forking out for yet another delicious meal JUST so I can get some photos for the blog.
SUFFERING??? You have no idea!

Aren't you coming sometime in October, TC?
Two friends that couldn't make it to the original Sevilla meet are coming for about ten days next month and I'm so looking forward to seeing them again.
Must find out if zoomer is still planning to visit in October, as well as blicky ...
Anyhow, the tapa blog a fun hobby and the staff usually quite like getting into the act as well, once they see me taking pics. And I always leave a card with the blog URL so they can look up their photos later on.

clzoomer- a bit woobly Posted Sep 12, 2007
Az (and Nog) - Sadly October looks like a no-go due to a floor installed by a total incompetent (and the previous owner). I am spending days and days (plus dollars and dollars) painfully removing tile floors (with jack hammers) that were installed with the wrong cement bed. Having started I can't just stop and have to go the distance as it were, but I hope to be done by the New Year and sell in the Spring, when I would love to come and visit again if you'll have me.
Perhaps we could organise another mini-meet with more than three? I'd be willing to put up with someone in the next room as long as they don't mind snoring and I get the same room I had.

azahar Posted Sep 12, 2007
What a shame, zoomer! Both about your floor and not being able to visit in October. And of course, I'm now going to have to make other knicker arrangements...
Spring is always a nice time to come, as long as you skip the Semana Santa madness. But I don't think there will be any rooms free next door. If you weren't allergic to the cats you could stay with us, but never mind, there's still plenty of time to sort something out.
Another mini-meet is a good idea as long as we keep it smallish, say, about 6 people in total (including me and Nog). It's difficult to get into some of the quaint little tapa bars with more people than that.
But of course, we always love having friends visit, so anybody can come anytime and we'll be happy to show them around.

I've changed the categories drop-down menu to just a list of bar and restaurant names on the sidebar. Do you think it looks better?
(you can still see the drop-down menu on the Spanish version by clicking on the sun)

Hi Az - a visit in October is no longer on the cards - it was a very vague plan, anyway.
I just spent a week visiting my parents in East Anglia (they'll be 88 next month) However - spring might be a good idea. I'd like to bring my husband, so I'll work on that.

Well, it'll be nice in the spring too, TC.
Blues and SLG are here now (they had to miss the mini meet) and it's been lots of fun. Perfect weather, pleasant company and *muchas* tapas.
Something to think about if you are going to be staying for at least three nights next time is getting a holiday apartment rather than a hotel. My neighbour Joseph has some fabulous places and they are all in the centre. There is even one right across the street from Las Teresas, "Casa Doña Teresa", but it's for 4 people so is priced accordingly. But there are quite a few one-bedroom places too.
Nog and I stayed in an apartment when we went to Lisbon and it was so much more comfortable than a hotel. Also cheaper.
This is the link for Casa Doña Teresa and there is a list of the other apartments on the left.

Been making a few changes. I've got my own website now and am incorporating the clothing website and the tapa blogs there, and possibly some other stuff.
It's still under construction so some feedback would be appreciated.

Bar Campanario. She just got back yesterday from spending a month in India. I haven't seen her yet but might stop by today to say hello.
