Oh, I'm so excited. I have finally found my way back into h2g2. You know, I've been trying off and on over the last year or so to get back in, but couldn't seem to succeed. I guess prayer really works even for the simplest things...I guess I didn't realize that my user name is case-sensitive. I could have sworn that I had tried it before, but to no avail.
Anyway, right now I'm rather frustrated. A friend from my church has a computer that was running Windows 95 (US version), but because the PC was a gift from someone, they don't have any of the installation or startup disks anymore. They tried to upgrade to Windows 98 because the pastor gave them an update CD-ROM, and their PC crashed after that because they had insufficient memory to perform the upgrade.
I created a Win 98a (US) boot disk, and had to reformat the hard drive in order to free up enough space to perform the update. Obviously, I can't perform the update now because I need a startup disk for Windows 95, which these people don't have, since their PC came with no disks whatsoever.
I'm trying to find a legal way of getting a Windows 95 startup disk so that we can run that and then perform the Win 98 update.
I'm so frustrated!
