Raindrops disturb the surface of the water
The sheen of oil ripples in the firey light
the impact of the drop billows out with silt
making the pool murky for a moment
the playfull ripples calm as the silt settles
another rainrop ignites the cycle anew

Don't know much about poetry (I'm really bad at creating metaphors) but I thought this was was nice. I can really see the water and the ripples and stuff.

After reading it a few times I actually got a lump in my throat. Must have hit a cord or something....
And I can hear the blue saxophone in the background.

Thanks all. Oddly enough I got the idea for this while I was waiting in a drive through for a burrito at the 24 hour taco stand near my house.
