My journal entry posted twelve weeks ago on the subject of Denmark may or may not be relevant, but I hereby copy it to you gratis to add to the discussion (actually it had not received any replies).

DENMARK
A very small country in Northern Europe, first populated by earthlings in the early part of the first millennium. A seafaring nation, the Danes somehow found their way to the eastern fringes of Great Britain as well as parts of Ireland, by longboat, even without the computerised navigation aids now used by Danish Seaways.
They are even credited with the discovery of Russia and the colonisation of Normandy (hence Norman, from “north-man”). Stories of rape and pillage current in the late 6th century were grossly exaggerated.
Famous in Britain more recently for exports such as Carlsberg, butter, Peter Schmeichel, Tuborg, pornography and bacon, the Danes are a gentle and fun-loving people who cherish their national identity.
The Danish independent spirit is demonstrated by their suspicion (like that of many inhabitants of Great Britain) of greater integration into the European Union and their espousal of the Apple Mac as the prime form of computing. Thoroughly sensible people on both counts.
