... and welcome to h2g2 - finally.
I'm one of the <./>ACEs</.> (Assistant Community Editors). We are a team of volunteers who try to help "new" researchers for the guide find their way around. You can click on the link I made with that acronym in order to find out more. To find out more about anyone, click on the link made by their nickname (eg at the top of any conversation postings) to go to their personal space. Lurking is quite acceptable on h2g2 - which is a good thing given how long you've been doing it!
I've been checking back into the h2g2 archives for researchers who might otherwise think they had been ignored. I suspect you don't need any help but, since you've only recently activated your personal space, I thought I'd drop by just in case.
If you have a question, click on the reply link below and I'll be back. Otherwise, feel free to ignore this message.
Question about peer review...
InTuune Posted Feb 18, 2003
I have an article in the writing workshop that I'd like to submit for peer review, but I can't seem to figure out how to do so. I don't see any button or check box to allow such an operation.
Please advise,
PF
Question about peer review...

In order to submit your entry for PeerReview you must first remove it from the Writing-Workshop as there is no transfer button between forums. To remove the entry, go to where it is in the list and you should see a "Remove" link next to it. You will only see the "Remove" link for your own entries. Click on the link for the entry you want to remove if you have several. Then you should be able to click on the "Submit for Review" link to submit the entry again but this time select the "Peer Review" option from the drop-down list.
You might like to read <./>DontPanic-ReviewForums</.> for more information.
Question about peer review...
InTuune Posted Feb 25, 2003
Ok, I removed it from the writing workshop and submitted it for peer review, but the conversation link at the bottom still points to the original writing workshop conversation.
Shouldn't it point to the Peer Review conversation?
The link to the article is http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/A965694
Thanks,
Paul
Question about peer review...
SEF Posted Feb 25, 2003
That isn't really the way it works. The conversation forum you are seeing is the one allocated to your article which follows it around. It isn't in either Writing Workshop or Peer Review although these places may now have links to your article and its conversation threads. Note that the link to the new Peer Review thread about your article is near the top on the right hand side of the page. Note also that if you right click or hover with the mouse over the links to leave a message or be notified of any new threads you will get the same forum number as for the single thread attached.
Unfortunately you are rather stuck with this bizarre conversation thread you acquired. It probably happened because that researcher had accidentally subscribed to the Workshop and thought any new thread which was automatically added to his list as a result was actually for him. That happens sometimes. You might be able to persuade the italics/moderators to remove it for you if it is really offensive but I don't hold out much hope.
Meanwhile I can go and look whether Jung Wing seems to be having trouble elsewhere and wants any help sorting it out.
