Who else knows about this author besides me???
I was made to read the first part of his Deptford Trilogy, called Fifth Business, when I was in high school. Since then he has become one of my favourite authors, dealing in mysticism, magic, religion, mythology etc etc etc - and all the while telling a very good story! With much humour.
What I love most about Mr. Davies's books is that I always learn something from them. Aside from them being massively entertaining I am being taught about the opera, the circus, theatre productions, movie making . . . as well as philosophy, religion, mythology. And he has contributed to my vocabulary more than any other author I can name.
He also tells a very good ghost story!
