Hiya all,
well I finished Hitchhiker again last night. I'll read it again some time next year, I expect. I'm back on to the Doctor Who books for now. The alternate history thing is always a good story.
I love Orwell's stuff, he's brilliant, and I like Bradbury as well. The Celia Ross book sounds great as well, I'll have a look out for that. Of course, I loved all the Enid Blyton books when I was a kid and a read a couple last year for a laugh.
I like the Brontes, but haven't really read much Austen. I expect she's much the same in terms of style though. I keep forgetting another good series I'm reading at the moment and that's the Terry Goodkind Sword of Truth series, it's really well written. I also loved Tad Williams' Otherland series as well. Those books held me in their grip from beginning to end...of the series! That doesn't happen often,
Alicia

My reading's a bit slow at the moment, because I'm still at school so I can't always be reading as much as I'd like to, but I find that getting home in the evening and curling up with a good story is very soothing. Austen's Pride and Prejudice was a very good book, and very enjoyable indeed. I read Sense and Sensibility too, but for me it didn't have so much richness- the story felt a bit limp in places. I had to read Wuthering Heights for GCSE and I have to say I really detested it. I won't say more than that for now because I know I'll get shouted down for slandering what is believed to be one of the mostfamous romances of all time. Certainly, it teaches a very clear lesson about love, but the the story isn't very palatable to my taste.

Lol oh right. Sorry. I've just finished Bernard Cornwell's "Warlord Chronicles". They're very good. I don't know whether to start "A Christmas Carol" now, or "Nineteen Eighty-Four". Probably Orwell first, I think- I'm itching to see what happens in the story, even though I saw the Jo Brand article about it.
