Ahhh... my first journal entry.
I'm typing this as I sit in my room with a big window. I can see
the busy street, the parking lot of a tiny strip mall, and the
Engineering Bldg. Very poetic.
I'm stuck with this view until the end of the summer.
This summer has turned out to be nothing like what I planned. I have
managed to not find a single job, much less start working on my
thesis. My significant-other type of person is far, far away. This
is nothing like what I envisioned in January.
But then again, when would I have time to cook for seven after this
summer? When would I have another chance to read 7 books in a
week and a half... all of the seven I hand-picked myself? When
will I ever talk about sex drive of a 14 year-old and how
(damn!!!) Joe has no class whatsoever and how it's not sweet and
all that with my friends at wee hour of the morning?
What I'm trying to tell myself is that this will be my last real vacation
for a long time. I have to let go of...lots of things.
So I'm going to try to cherish the time at hand. If it's pouring outside,
why not dance in the rain and get completely soaked? I'm still here.
So here I am, one Saturday afternoon, writing about the view from here.
