Indeed they are, Tom. I was just going to mention them. Not that I buy children's books any more .
Can I just confess that I am not going to be able to contribute much to this thread. Time is not on my side at the mo. So if you want to strike my suggestion off, that's fine.

Sorry Tom please forgive me. Since you're living in that area have you been on the official Tolkien Trail around Brum? I haven't but I used to live in Hall Green not far from Sarehole Mill which has something to do with his inspiration for TLOR.
Mad Lemur, you busy Bee! Of course we'll keep the book on the list and if you have time you can join in. Eoin Colfer is such a witty man - looking forward to it.
Well done Star, I haven't read that yet, have read Holes though, looking forward to discussing that. I really like the ending.

Please put Lemony Snicketts on the list. I haven't read them as such, but I have picked them up and skimmed through a few pages in the shop. I might stand there and read a whole book one day.

Hi
I rickon you lot are just putting books on the list that you have already read. So....
Last week whilst spending a
day looking after my Granddaughter, who is infact the grandest of all granddaughters, she and I read "Kipper's Surprise" 37 times. Is this a record. So I would like to put "Kipper's Surprise" on the list.
Graham (or AGHAG! HAGD! as Gd refers to me.)

You've done it again!! J R R Tolkien! Look what you've gone and done now to poor ol' Tolky, he's weeping in his grave as he see's his name being systematically trod on.
Can you class, Terry Pratchett, as a children's read?? If so, I would recommend, Mort, and, Pyrammids.

Ah Ha - I've read Mort! My wife's read Mort. My dog was half way through reading Mort when he drowned in the River. But he was 14, so I am not blaming Pratchett.
I was only joking about Kipper's Surprise. It's rubish really - no surprise at at. So better take it off the list.
