Hello again Laura, just thought that I would let you know that my real name is Christopher. Black Stratocaster is my nickname because....well, I own a Strat, it is Black...(with maple fretboard, I don't like rosewood fretboards, never did).
Let me know how everything is at Uni.
Regards,
Christopher

Hello Christopher, it's taken so long to get vack to you, I've had no internet since Friday morning.
As good a reason as any . Unconformity was just the result of revising for a geology exam, but it's lost a few letters since out of repeated use .
Can tell you tomorrow (when term starts ). Hope you've had a good weekend.
Laura
(ooh, there's ? )
Hello again!

Hope you are fine. I have had a really bad cold. How is University? What do you get up to in the evenings?
Best regards,
Christopher
Hello again!
Laura Posted Apr 23, 2004
I'm fine thanks. They're nasty. University's fine, only been back a week though. Mixture of things really, tonight I'm off to a friend's house party and yesterday I watched a film with my housemates. Otherwise I might go to the cinema, a meal out, read, work or just surf the net. You?

Hi Laura, Thanks for your messages. I do hope that you are well and having fun.Did you go to see a movie? What was it?
Tonight I watched a programme about Christopher Wren. I rarely watch TV these days, but this was interesting and I do like the Restoration period.
It is an interesting period of history. My cold is going now, I had a bad couple of days and a nasty cough. I have spent a few hours practising guitar. What taste in music do you have? Please let me know. It is good to hear from you.
Best regards,
Christopher

Laura Posted Apr 26, 2004
Not been to the cinema for a little while, just watched 'Master and Commander' on dvd with some friends. Getting too close to the exams now to go out much.
I rarely watch TV at all, I just tend to watch the news first thing. There's just so little worth watching.
Good about the cold going. I've a very varied taste in music. I don't like dance, rap, most R&B, hip hop or that type of thing, but I like just about everything else, including clasical. Mostly I tend to listen to rock or old pop though.

BlackStratocaster Posted Apr 28, 2004
Ah, yes. I know what University is like. I studied Russian at Uni.
So you like classical? I occasionally play classical guitar music. You mention that you like old rock? Nowadays, my main interest is in Jazz, such as Miles Davis, but I recently started listening to Jimi Hendrix.
Hello again!
Laura Posted Apr 29, 2004
Got an essay due in tomorrowe to finish off and really should work on that
Jazz is good, there's a nice pub in Nottingham with live jazz bands.

Good to hear from you. Hope that you are well. How did your essay go? What was it about? Please tell me more, I am interested in life at your Uni. Good fun being at Uni isn't it!
Nottingham is supposed to be a pleasant and friendly place, or so I have heard. Is it true?
How is the toffee popcorn?
Take care!
Hello again!
Laura Posted May 5, 2004
Yes, got it finished, it was a lab report on a study of the university lake. Uni's great, this week's a bit busy though, lots of coursework to hand in and an exam tomorrow.
Well, my house was on the news yesterday as there was an armed robery in a shop a few doors down, but generally friendly. Gun crime is a big problem though and the roads aren't very safe.
Hmmm, no toffee popcorn at the moment, spending too much time revising to make any.
Hope you're keeping well.
Hello again!
BlackStratocaster Posted May 18, 2004
An essay about the lake? Tell me more. Sorry to hear that there is gun crime in Nottingham. I didn't see the news about the shop that was robbed a few doors from where you live. What happened?
I am quite well. Always practising on my Strat!
Best regards,
Christopher

Laura Posted May 18, 2004
It was just a lab report to assess the trophic status of the lake. It was a few weeks ago when it happened - there was an armed robbery, the shopkeeper was abducted, driven around Nottingham, hit over the head and left outside the shop. She recovered well fortunately.
Trophic....
BlackStratocaster Posted May 30, 2004
Trophic status? What exactly is that? Can you swim in the pond? Can you fish in it? Have you thought about letting loose some piranhas in it? (Only kidding !)
So ,what else do you get up to at Uni? Any wild parties?
Everything fairly quiet around here. I live in Cheshire.
Best regards,
Christopher
Trophic....
Laura Posted May 30, 2004
Basically it means 'feeding', an ogliotrophic lake is the least productive and a eutrophic lake the most. There are fish but fishing's not allowed. I wouldn't recomend swimming in it, it's somewhat shallow and there's some asty bacteria.
Well, my last exam was on Thursday so now having a bit of a relaxing time. Spent all day today playing games in the park and having a picnic.
Nice place Cheshire, stopped there a few times between Nottingham and Snowdonia.
Trophic....
BlackStratocaster Posted Jun 11, 2004
Interesting, thanks for telling me about 'trophic'. What are the nasty bacteria in the lake? Does the bacteria not affect the fish, or are the bacteria a product of the fish themselves?
Where did you go in Cheshire when you stopped off? How was Snowdonia? I have never been there, except for a visit to Lake Bala which I suppose is on the border.
Best wishes,
Christopher
Trophic....
Laura Posted Jun 11, 2004
Cyano bacteria, toxic, gives you a nasty stomach upset. Bacteria does effect the fish, in many ways. Stopped off only to go to the Pizza Hut. Snowdonia was great , and I'm off to the Lakes tomorrow
