Aha Unconformity
so you are at Nottingham - now that is odd, because I live full time in that city *grin*
Worse still, I have even worked with people in several departments at the uni.
Never been involved with geographers though - but at least you have a bit more than simply geography to keep you busy. I mean hills are hills and tectonic plates move sooo slowly!
Terry Pratchett seems to be one of those authors with an extremely broad range of readers - he still cracks me up with his observational humour. Am not such a fan of Mr Rankin, but do like Tom Holt.

Hello there . Nottingham's a better place than Hemel certainly. You worked at the Uni, .
The school of geography keeps to it's self. I'm with the school of life and environmental sciences. There certainly is plenty to keep me busy - currently writing an essay for applied entomology.
Terry Pratchett's a great author. I like Tom Holt as well (can't remember if I put that up on my page or not). Not read all that many of his books though - nothing but blue skies, who's afraid of Beowulf, my hero, only human and djin rummy. Only human is my favourite so far . I've falling sideways on my pile of books to read at some point in the future.

Judging by the fact that you are the only person to have left me a message from book of the future, it's my guess that you are Mike. Here's where I spend most my time on h2g2;
A1010845 - my fledgling creative writing page
A148907 - ask h2g2, also home to the original everlasting sentence
A703126 - united friends of h2g2 space. I like the word games
Useful pages are; the front page, as you can get to pratcially anywhere from there, A690518 for colourful GuideML, A219638 - the don't panic help centre, and C743 for all the help pages in general.
hmmm

Well that's alright then. Was wondering how confused anyone else would be to find that as a reple to their message . If you don't find what you're looking for then I'll think up some more links.
