What was the best thing before sliced bread?

I believe it was something called Phkorkling, and involved lots of Australian Mongeese and particularly perculiar Gold Fish. Since Australian Mongeese were difficult to come by, they usually made do a chicken, or failing that a morbidly obese rat.

The perculiar Gold Fish were much easier to come by, because at the time, all gold fish were considered perculiar, with them being "gold" and everything.

Once these vital ingredients were mixed together, one of two things happened. Everyone watched, ate lots of smoked salmon (as was the craze in those days) and usually got bored and went home. Or sometimes (well once...it was rumoured) the sky lit up, and while no one was looking the gold fish would eat the mongoose. This event was considered the best thing before sliced bread.
