eight legged freaks
elmsyrup Started conversation Sep 2, 2003
I've realised what it is I dislike about spiders. If you see a woodlouse in the house (hey!) okay, you're alarmed, because it's not meant to be there, but it doesn't make me freak. This is because woodlice seem to be powered by clockwork. They have a whirring, repetitive sort of movement. But when arachnids move each of their legs individually there's a spark of life there- they almost seem to be sentient, and that is an uncomfortable thought. By the way do Americans pronounce legged in the old English way- leggID- or as most words ending ED ie legd?
