Anyone who may have looked at this item over the past few days will notice that I have changed the title (to my original), as the shorthand Guide Title I used ('Authority in the Catholic Church') led one to expect a considered, objective study.
The article does not lack consideration or objectivity.
It simply reflects personal experience of this kind of authority in practice, misunderstandings regarding its nature, and the concepts, practices and qualities of the men who wield it.
