Hmmm.... It seems a little thin at the moment -- lots of sarcasm, not a lot of actual, factual information. Personally, I think it needs to be fleshed out a bit if you want to get this into the Edited Guide -- more information on the history of the region, on what makes Columbia different from neighboring countries, etc.
What do others think?

Marx Brothas seems to have been another one day visitor - didn't reply to their ACE message either. It looks like a back to entry job in the fullness of time.

Thanks for checking out my entry. My thoughts on this piece, which is very factual, is that it is a personal take on the history of Colombia, one that is very similar to the rest of the Americas. Let me know what you think.

Have you taken a look at any of the other entries on different countries that have made it into the Edited Guide? Taking a look at those might give you a better idea of the kind of depth and writing people are expecting here in Peer Review.
Here are few examples of Edited Guide entries you might want to take a look at:
A716591 -- "11 September, 1973 - The Day Democracy Died in Chile"
A778115 -- "Easter Island"
A698529 -- "Brazil"
A563681 -- "Sao Paulo City, Sao Paulo, Brazil"
A471241 -- "Che Guevara - Revolutionary"
A537671 -- "Potosi and the Mines of Cerro Rico, Bolivia"
A294013 -- "Mariachi Bands in El Salvador"
A875496 -- "Stuff They Don't Tell You About Living in Barbados"
A618969 -- "Pirates of the Spanish Main"
Hope this helps some!
Mikey

Thanks for the links to related h2g2 entries.
I read them and found that the closest to my style is "Stuff They Don't Tell You About Living in Barbados". This Edited Guide Entry is personal and factual (based on the writer's experience).
My piece on Colombia is similar (and I am from Colombia!). I feel my piece stands as is and should be included in the Edited Guide. Let me know what you think.

I agree that your piece is somewhat similar in style to the Barbados entry -- that was one of the reasons I included it on the list. However, I do feel that the Barbados entry is considerably richer in content than your entry is. At the beginning of the thread, I gave some suggestions as to how you might flesh out the content of your entry -- any thoughts on that?

Thanks for your email. I feel your previous suggestions ("more information on the history of the region, on what makes Colombia different from neighboring countries") are already in there.
My entry is succinct.
Seems y'all think this doesn't fit as is for the Edited Guide. Cool.

I reckon that if this wasn't a BBC website your entry would stand a better chance of being picked, albeit with a bit more content. It really needs some more reasoned arguments as to why all the ingredients have come together the way they have. As it stands right now it comes across as an opinion piece, which is prolly why it won't make it into the EG. It'll always be part of h2g2 though, and anyone who searches on 'Clombia' will see it turn up in the search results.
