h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It is with great joy that I announce the results of a campaign sign counting journey around my constituency (provincial election coming in a few weeks):

The incumbent Hindu/University Professor/Senior citizen/socialist Raj (against the Machine) Pannu stands virtually alone.

The "For Rent" party will quiet handily defeat the candidate for the governing crypto-fascist Progressive Conservative party. Yes, the Conservative candidate has managed to find one -- yes one -- sign to put on someone's lawn.

The Liberal party of Alberta doesn't seem to have a candidate in my riding.

I'm very proud to say that only one of my representatives at any level of government is an old white man -- and he's an absolutely flaming open homosexual.

I've got:

at the municipal level a white woman and the afore mentioned flamer

at the provincial level the afore mentioned Hindu/University Professor/Senior citizen/socialist

and, at the federal level a Muslim/Ugandan Refugee/business man/conservative.

Apart from the party affiliations of my federal representative, I feel pretty good about my neighbourhood.
