Mmm, Victoria Sponge.. (The Meringue looks a bit pale and uninteresting...) The eccles cakes appear to be what here in NZ are called 'Fly Cemeteries' (yuck). Thanks for the link, clz!

Thanks for the recipes! I can't wait to try the Eccles cakes, a whole lot nicer than fly cemeteries...
The verse today, reminds me of the Rutger Hauer film 'Ladyhawke' which we bought on DVD and watched last night - no, really, we did, and it does, it's brilliant!

This is the bit that reminds me of Ladyhawke:
"Then Ehud closed and locked the doors and climbed down the latrine and escaped through the sewage access." Judges 3:23 (New Living Translation)

Oh, brilliantly apposite! Well done!
I was thinking of Imperius saying God had forgiven and accepted him when he found a way to break the curse. Ladyhawke - ultimate chick flick, or wonderful sword and sorcery? (My son says the latter, but I just fancy Rutger Hauer so much...)He was superb in Blade Runner, he has that Brad Dourif underneath-it-all-I-am-raving-psychopath thing going.
