Smethwick Rofle St Station.
Near Birmingham, UK.
Situated between Birmingham and Wolverhampton this canyon of soot ridden brick, bestrune with Graffitti, has to be experienced.
Micheal Palin would not include the Birmingham to Wolverhampton Line as one of the Great Railway Journeys of the world.
The council created the "Greenline Project" in the early eighties to improve the scenary. Millions of pounds were spent, in vain, on trackside improvement. One of the most pathetic aspects of the expenditure are the half dozen black horses cast in 2D steel alongside the track. Naturally they have been tagged themselves as have most things alongside the track, walls, signals, burnt cars, dead grannies etc.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
