TeaKay Started conversation Feb 2, 2007
It's been ages since I post anything here, or even really looked at the entries.
A lot of things have changed since I last posted here properly... I just don't hang around here much any more. I just popped in to say there are a few people on my list who I miss in a funny way, even though I never really knew any of you properly (bar one, who'll always be special).
So, anyway, I'm posting because I have a few minutes away from the daily grind for once! Anyone who reads this and thinks that they might like to get in touch, please do. I won't post much on here because I'm not really into that much more. But it'd be nice to re-spark an email correspondence or two.
Nanu, nanu.

Hello Tom, nice to see you back, all be it briefly.
Do you still have a weblog? If you do, remind me of the address.

My weblog is at http://dandymagrathean.livejournal.com/ , but you have to have an account and 'friend' me to read it.
You can email me at dandyhighwayman [at] gmail.com if you want to get in touch. My old email is still active, but if you've sent me anything and I haven't replied, it's probably been swept out with the spam, so email me at the new one

Sob!

I will e-mail you, promise, but I'm recovering from the vomiting bug that's doing the rounds so it might be a couple of days. I'm trying not to expend all my energy.

I'm hootooing at work today (bad Liz!), so I can't look at your blog from here. I'll have to take a look from home. The security on our works server won't let me view any blogs (even my own!) as it thinks that blogs are message boards. However, it does allow me onto hootoo. Clearly the BBC could not possibly be used for anything that's not work related!

Welll.... that didn't work much, did it? I've kind of left livejournal for the moment. Too high maintenance. My latest obsession is facebook, so if anyone passes by and fancies saying hi and has a facebook account...
Other methods of comms still stand if anyone's interested. Finished my PGCE now, so possibly a little more catchable for the next couple of weeks at least.

Hello you!
I can't be a***d to open any more internet accounts - it's too hard to keep track of them all!
So, have you got any teaching work lined up now that you are qualified. Is it maths that you do? Big shortage of Maths lecturers (we were interviewing for maths tutors at the college where I work just last week).
I don't come on here myself that often now. I'd like to claim that is because I am busy with my blog, but I only do that about once a week.
Anyway, nice to hear from you and good luck with whatever you do.

Apologies for not replying to this... I realise it's been two years or so!
To answer your question, in case you should ever wander back here... I've just finished my second year as a maths teacher. It's gone from consistently terrible to terrible and bearable in just about equal measure. I'm hoping the balance continues to sway in the same direction for a while!
If you do come back on here, and you still have your blog, what's the address?
I've just started a blog at http://tommybblog.blogspot.com/ . You're welcome to browse (and comment!) as is anyone else who wanders by. It's public and should remain so (I might make more ranty, private-type blogs over at livejournal from time to time if I feel the need).
I have a google profile at http://www.google.com/profiles/dandyhighwayman , if anyone wants to find any other ways to get in touch.
Bye for now, if anyone reads this...

I've just wondered onto here for the first time in ages and found this post.
I am still blogging, although not very frequently. I have a fiance to occupy my time these days and when we are not doing things to my house and garden or riding around on his motorbike, we can usually be found on Facebook (at the moment, somewhat tragically obsessed with Farmville) or Funtrivia. The blog always falls by the wayside a bit during the summer because I'd rather be doing something outdoors when the whether is good and late summer (now, in fact) work tends to take over my life somewhat. I'm still an administrator at a college and I still loathe it, but well paid admin jobs are hard to come by. Anyway, my blog is still:
liz-ordinary.blogspot.com
(It's so long since I used this site that I can't remember how to put links in).
I know from working in the education sector that maths teachers are a rare breed and very highly prized, so you've certainly chosen a safe career. I wish you luck.

Maybe we're destined to wander in and out, completing a conversation over the course of years rather than the more generally accepted minutes, hours or days...
I'm still blogging- have just posted my review of Six of Three (it's here: http://bit.ly/cHIPCG), and I've just popped on here to see if I can find people who'd like to read it... I've just followed your blog too, so hopefully you'll update soonish so I can see what you have to say! I don't know if I mentioned it before, but I also write an astronomy blog, if you're interested in such things. It's at http://blogstronomy.blogspot.com
I'm still teaching maths; still not entirely enamoured with the whole thing, but it's getting easier to do to an acceptable level, so who knows.
