It is strange how something so distant to you can get so close to your heart. I’m fascinated (well, it’s the wrong word, just interested in a deeper way) by the journal that Brian May keeps on his site. Of course I know that he doesn’t write everything there, but it’s still very interesting. Just to get a piece of his mind, which I find amazing. Some of his entries are very meaningful to me. Even the way he writes, that makes uninteresting things sound interesting, because he brings then in a different way.
There are two things I wanted to write about. The first one is not really related to Brian (It’s about his friend Vicki, about whom he wrote several days ago). I’ve read her story http://brianmay.com/vickisworld/index.html and, I think, it changed my life somehow, I’m not really sure how. The only thing I realized is that what Freddie once said is completely true.
'The most important thing, darling, is to live a fabulous life. As long as it's fabulous, I don't care how long it is.'
I heard that million of times before (in some way or another) and I agreed with it, but I’ve never really understood what it meant…. Until now. Because life won’t wait for you… and YOU are the one who has to make things happen.
“It matters not how strait the gate, how charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul.”
"Invictus,"
by William Earnest Henley
The second thing that I wanted to say is about Brian’s last post. He wrote about false articles written about Anita and him. I found that rather disturbing. First of all an artist (musician, poet…) shouldn’t be famous by his/her personal life, it’s what he/she does that matters. Then it’s just wrong to write rumors about THE nicest people. How low can you sink. It makes me sad to read what Brian wrote, because from his tone it is really easy to pick up his feelings. It sucks… =( Why do people hurt other people?
