Well that's what it feels like.
I'm sitting here, drinking pink champagne, and Mr T is now officially unemployed, as of 5.00pm yesterday.
Actually, it's not quite as black/white as that.
Firstly, it's NZ pink Methode Champenoise - at a fraction of the price of real but just as good.
Secondly, he has an interview on Tuesday afternoon + two other irons in the fire, both heating up nicely
They gave him a 'leaving-do' on Thursday. He got some lovely presents, including a fountain pen, inscribed 'From your colleagues at ***' and a Trip on a Speedboat. They also gave me an Aromatherapy Massage
Most touching of all was the pile of cards and letters from colleagues - none of whom can quite understand why he is leaving. He seems to be held in high regard by the people who have worked for him over the years on this project. And as well as being respected, he seems to have been genuinely liked and held in affection.
They say every cloud has a silver lining......we're just not sure what that is yet.

Hi Teuchter,
have just read your post and as one who has lost more jobs than I can remember can I just say that this may be the best thing to happen to you for ages.
I always felt low after leaving a job whether of my own accord or being pushed but I always learned something from the experience.
good luck friend,
Kif

It certainly sounds like Mr. T won't have a bit of trouble getting glowing recommendations.
Best wishes to both of you.

All the best to Mr.T - and really, why not drink ? It's far better than sitting around with a long face being miserable.

Hey Teuchter It'll be fine, it may take time, but it will be fine. Say hello to Mr T and if he needs any advice in dealing with the pot holes of the job centre...excuse me I now have a degree in it!
take care all of you
