Try Truckers and it's related books to start with - they'll help you get used to him - Only you can save mankind and Johnny & the dead are good too!

Being a kid with a leaning towards science I'd have to disagree with your opinion that the current education system encourages this behaviour. That certainly was not the case for me. In fact I think the only thing the current system encourages is to be brain dead zombies. Good schools who really encourage children to acheive their potential are really few and far between.
The library.

I feel quite sorry for you and your experiences. Yes I was teased by fellow students about my love of reading and fro being a good all rounder. But my teachers were always encouraging. AS you get older you get to accept yourself more and realise that fitting in is not really so important.
Nope

A good article.
I happen to take care of somebody with a vitamin B1 deficiency and have to nurse her 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
My boss warned me I already used almost all free days of next year.
I'm risking to loose my job right now, but the other option is I let my girlfriend die (she often vommits and isn't able to lift her own head so she is in real danger of suffocating).
Anybody outhere with similar experiences/problems?
PS don't take me wrong, my girlfriend has a much harder time than me, and loosing my job is one of the least problems we got!

Hi,
Look I don't have the same experience, I'm the guy who started this thread ( A Type 1 Diabetic ) , We as a family have had lots of trajedy in the last 5 years, and I am a nurse frequently nursing the dying but only in shifts, Nothing though compares to what you have, I am sorry your job is in jepardy, that's so wrong ! I admire you for looking after your girlfriend.
I wish I had something magic to say that would help ? But of course I can't, I will pray for both of you , You should be able to track my Email if you ever need a chat,
Regards
Kevin

Thanks!
It's just a relief to talk to people who have an idea of the situation. About my job, 'good' news: 4 people quitted last monday so loosing me is the last thing my boss wants right now... The downside is the workload when I'll return to the office eventually.
Right now I've got a brand new problem. My girlfriend is so fed up with the examinations she refused one today. An important one because this time they want to decide on her priority on the waitinglist for the revalidationcentre (hope this is a correct translation). Luckily the doctor was quite nice and told her she can come back to him for the examination when she feels she can cope with it. She is aware of the consequences if she doesn't go but her reluctance to go wins it from reason at this moment. She's a stuborn type but I'm confident I can convince her to go sooner or later...
Best whishes for everybody outthere caring or been cared for.
Of course also for the rest of you folks
